While twice as many PCBs as anticipated have been removed from the 40-mile stretch dredged in the project, the 315 mile-long river still holds the largest concentration of EPA-designated Superfund sites. Two years after the $2 billion dollar project by GE ended the Hudson River still retains toxic levels of PCBs to wildlife and humans.
